Without Limits - College and Career Fair -November 2010

Con Mi Madre sponsored what they hope to be the annual "Without Limits: College and Career Fair" on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at the Mexican American Cultural Arts Center. Held in conjunction with the Hispanic Futures Conference, the fair featured 29 colleges and universities, 14 role model professionals and 11 support organizations, all offering advice and information to families about college and career.

Approximately 122 students participated in the fair. Most were joined by their parents as they visited both the college and career booths.

Colleges represented included local institutions such as Austin College, St. Edwards University and UT Austin, and other colleges such as Stanford, Vassar, Boston University and the University of Wisconson-Stout.

On the career side, role model professionals provided insight and career advice to students and families. Professions represented included accounting, technology, medicine, law enforcement, architecture, education and law.

Organizations offering support and advice included Austin ISD, UT Austin School of Social Work, Travis County, Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Corp., and Siempre Amigos.

The Fair was sponsored by Con Mi Madre in association with the Hispanic Futures Conference.
